Flora And Fauna

Climate, flora and fauna of Tepoztlan
The municipality has semi warm climates, humid and warm in the lowlands and sub-humid on the slopes of the mountains of Tepoztlan.
Due to different climates, there is a variety of ecosystems, in which there are some plant and animal species of great importance, as well as a variety of flora offers insights into traditional medicine, which even today has deep roots prince among the adult people.

In Mountain dominated by conifers, pine, patula, ayacahuite, moctezumal, fir, also found in the lower parts of the mountain oaks.
In the subtropical region, is represented by oak mixed with madrone, mimosasy acasia. As you descend the canyon is easy to find yellow figs, in the bottom of the mountain and dry cacti can be seen with ferns 
and mosses.


Introduced vegetation also exists for personal consumption and production in different locations:
Fruit trees: Plum, peach, avocado, chayote, orange, mamey, lemon, platanillo, grapefruit, yellow zapote, white and black, cherimoya, poma rosa, huaje, coffee, guava, mango, papaya, banana, pomegranate and lime.
Flower: Gladiolus, begonia, Rosales, agape, geraniums, oleander, tulip, good night, smells at night, bougainvillea, carnation, lily, datura, lilies, orchids, hydrangea, aretillo, jasmine, Alcatraz anddahlia.
Some of the medicinal plants that are located in the municipality: Axihuitl, black tea, basil, chamomile, flower Saul, big wolf, creosote bush, altareina, datura, rue, rosemary, wormwood, 
among others.
