Introduction

The name of  Tepoztlan is a word that derives from the Nahuatl language and means "Place of copper ax" or "Place of  the broken stones"

The township has a total area of 292 square kilometers and is bordered to the north with the City of Mexico (Milpa Alta), on the northeast Tlalnepantla, on the east Tlayacapan  Yautepec to the southeast, south to Yautepec, Jiutepec and Cuernavaca , northwest to Cuernavaca (Morelos state capital), and Huitzilac.
