Parroquia de la Natividad (Tepoztlan)

¢The Parish of the Nativity, the Church of Tepoztlan, and its former convent were built between 1555 and 1580 by villagers of the ancient Lordship of Tepoztlan, led by Dominican monks. The parish has a large courtyard in which there are four chapels (chapels that served to sit there the Blessed Sacrament in processions of the celebration of Corpus Christi, were made of stone and stood at the corners of the atrium) and a cross atrial whose tips end in the form of fleur de lis, emblem characteristic of the Order of the Dominicans. The most important religious feast of the Church of Tepoztlan is held on September 8, together with the celebrations of the challenge Tepozteco.
